Most shrub roses are fragrant, disease resistant and need little attention. They are a mixture of wild species, old garden roses from all over the world, plus hybrids developed over the last 100 years or so.

This age old Alba is a real beauty, it has an abundance of sweet smelling blooms in about late June, the blooms are soft blush pink and carried amongst soft blue - grey foliage. Can be grown as a pillar rose. The weather can prove a nuisance as rain at the wrong time will cause the blooms to ball and rot. (Prior to - 1738)
